Answer:

Explanation:

Step 1: Total number of cookies baked = 240

Step 2: Proportion of vanilla cookies = 2/5

Number of vanilla cookies = (2/5) * 240 = 96

Step 3: Jessy gave 36 vanilla cookies to her sister, so the number of vanilla cookies left = 96 - 36 = 60

Step 4: She gave 2/3 of the chocolate cookies to her neighbor. The number of chocolate cookies can be calculated by subtracting the number of vanilla cookies from the total number of cookies:

Number of chocolate cookies = 240 - 96 = 144

She gave 2/3 of the chocolate cookies to her neighbor, so the number of chocolate cookies left = (1 - 2/3) * 144 = (1/3) * 144 = 48

Step 5: The total number of cookies remaining after giving some to her sister and neighbor = 60 (vanilla cookies left) + 48 (chocolate cookies left) = 108

Step 6: Jessy had 3/8 of the cookies left, so the number of cookies she ate = (1 - 3/8) * 108 = (5/8) * 108 = 5 * 12 = 60

Jessy ate 60 cookies.
