The answer is

Explanation:

The answer is d.

y = -1/3 x + 9

Therefore if you put 3 in place of x you have that

y= - 3/3 + 9

y= -1 +9

y=8 For Q (3,8).

Also,

y= -1/3x +9

If u put 12 in place of x you have that

y= -1/3(12) +9

y= -12/3 +9

y= -4 +9

y=5. For P (12,5)

Answer:

y = -
(1)/(3) x + 9

Explanation:

the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

calculate m using the slope formula

m =
(y_(2)-y_(1) )/(x_(2)-x_(1) )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = Q (3, 8 ) and (x₂, y₂ ) = R (12, 5 )

now substitute these values into the formula

m =
(5-8)/(12-3) =
(-3)/(9) = -
(1)/(3) , then

y = -
(1)/(3) x + c ← is the partial equation

to find c substitute either of the 2 points into the partial equation

using Q (3, 8 )

8 = -
(1)/(3) (3) + c = - 1 + c ( add 1 to both sides )

9 = c

y = -
(1)/(3) x + 9 ← equation of line
