K is the midpoint of JL. If JK = x + 8 and KL = 5x, what is JK?

JK is 10

Explanation:

a.) JK=KL

b.) x+8=5x

subtract x from both sides. It will look like this

(8=5x-x)

c.) 8=4x

divide both sides by 4

d.) 2=x

you now have the value of x which is 2. now substitute

JK= 2 + 8

JK= 10
