Given that

  • A line has a slope of 2 and passes through (-1,3)

✦ We need to find

  • The point-slope form of the line

\hrulefill

\longleftrightarrow\rm{y-y_1=m(x-x_1)}

\longleftrightarrow\rm{y-3=2(x-(-1)}

\longleftrightarrow\rm{y-3=2(x+1)}

Therefore the equation is y - 3 = 2(x + 1).

Point- slope form is y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y1 is 3 x1 is -1 m is 2

Substitute

y - 3 = 2(x + 1)
