the axis of symmetry splits the parabola into 2 symmetrical halves

given the point (2, - 1 ) lies on the parabola

Then another point will be (2, - 1 ) reflected in the line y = - 4

y = - 4 is a horizontal line

thus the x- coordinate remains unchanged

the y- coordinate - 1 is 3 units above y = - 4

the reflected y- coordinate will therefore be 3 units below y = - 4, that is - 7

another point on the graph of the parabola is (2, - 7 )
