• - 4y = -24

Divide both sides by 4,

• y = 6

Now, sustitute the value of y in eqn. 1,

• 2x- 3y = 14
• 2x + 3(6) = 14

Simplify the equation,

• 2x + 18 = 14

Subtract 24 from both sides,

• 2x + 24 - 24 = 14 - 18
• 2x = - 4

Divide both sides by 2,

• x = - 2

Henceforth, x = -2 and y = 6 .
