An excellent method to show your seniors they are special is to show them common courtesy. Give them a hearty hug, a handshake, or whichever you feel most comfortable greeting them. Talk to your seniors in your natural speaking voice and refrain from using any words or expressions that can make them uncomfortable or confused.

Use phrases like "geezer" or "gramps" sparingly because they could irritate them. Instead, address them as "Mr." or "Ms." and their last name, or if they prefer, their first name.
