The Secret Gardeners
Maria walked into the beautiful garden behind her house. The flowers seemed to glow vibrantly, popping with color. The hedges were neatly trimmed into intricate shapes. Maria's mother was usually tending to her beloved garden, humming cheerfully as she worked. But now she was sick in bed and unable to care for the garden herself.
Maria set to work, pulling weeds and watering the plants. But no matter how much she worked, the garden remained just as vibrant and perfect as ever. Curious, Maria hid behind a bush and watched.
Before long, small figures appeared, just a few inches tall. They were elves! With tiny tools and bits of fabrics as clothes, they set about caring for each plant and flower. Spreading fertilizer, pruning branches, and singing soft, cheerful songs.Then, as quickly as they had come, they disappeared.
Maria smiled and returned to her mother's bedside. "The garden will be just fine," she said. Her mother sighed with relief and sank back into her pillow, comforted by the news that her precious garden was well tended, by magical helpers.
