Kelsey and Carlos each conduct a probability simulation using a spinner with 6 equal-sized sections labeled 1 – 6. In Kelsey’s simulation, the spinner landed on the 2 section 26% of the time. In Carlos’s simulation, the spinner landed on the 2 section 20% of the time. Who do you think conducted more trials in their simulation?

The one who conducted more trials would be the one with more accurate answers. The probability of it landing on 2 is 1/6, or 0.17. Carlos' simulation seems to be more accurate, since the answer he got was much closer to the theoretical answer than Kelsey. However, you can never be entirely sure that Kelsey wasn't just lucky to land on two more times than expected.

Answer: Carlos
