The smallest bone in the human body is the stapes bone, also known as the stirrup bone. It is one of the three tiny bones located in the middle ear, collectively known as the ossicles. The stapes bone measures approximately 0.1 inches (2.5 to 3.3 millimeters) in length and resembles a stirrup, which is how it got its nickname.
