(2)/(-3) which is the same as
(-2)/(3)

If we did not have a graph and were given two points on the line, we could figure out the slope. Use the points (0,1) and (-3,3) The slope is the steepness of the line. We can find it by the change in y over the change in x. To find the change we subtract.

The y values are 3 and 1 (0,1) (-3,3).

The x values are -3,0 (0,1) (-3,3)


(3-1)/(-3-0) =
(2)/(-3)
