Since there is 7 identical tiles and the question is looking for the total area we would have to do 7(L*12)


L*12 is how you find the area of 1 tile. The formula of Area is L*W. In the Question it says that 12 is our width. But the Length is unknown so we would leave it as a L.

If L*12 is how you find the tea if 1 tile, to find the area if 7 you would have to multiply L*12 seven times. Then it’s 7(L*12)! Do the parentheses first so now it’s 7(12L) then you distribute and it becomes 84L. I hope this helped and I’m sorry if it may be wrong
