Answer:

Gatsby tells Nick about his past on a car ride on the way to lunch. Gatsby is probably lying because his claims are wild- he's the son of dead rich parents from San Francisco, he went to Oxford, he collected jewels from Europe, he hunted big game, and was awarded medals in world war 1 from many European countries. He even had proof of a medal from Montenegro and a picture of him playing cricket at Oxford. They're stopped by police but Gatsby gets by with his white card. Gatsby introduces to Nick Meyer Wolfshiem, a sketchy person who rigged the World Series and does business with Gatsby. After, Nick meets with Jordan Baker, who tells him that Gatsby's in love with Daisy Buchanan and they met during the war. After the war Daisy couldn't wait for him and married Tom. Gatsby lives at West Egg to be near her. Gatsby got Jordan to ask Nick to arrange a meet between Gatsby and Daisy for tea.

Hope this helped :)
