Answer: 32 ft²

Explanation:

First, we will find the area of the original garden. We can use the formula A = LW to solve.

A = LW

A = (10 ft)(10 ft)

A = 100 ft²

Next, we will find the area of the new garden. Again, we will use A = LW to solve.

A = LW

A = (10 ft + 2 ft)(10 ft + 1 ft)

A = (12 ft)(11 ft)

A = 132 ft²

Lastly, we will subtract.

132 ft² - 100 ft² = 32 ft²

The garden's area will increase by 32 ft².
