Answer: So the weight of the empty jar is 175 grams.

Explanation:

First find out the weight of each cut of lemongrass. you can do this by finding the difference in weight between the jar with 100 cuts and the jar with 30 cuts.

The difference in weight between the two jars is 875 grams - 315 grams = 560 grams.

Now, you divide this difference by the difference in the number of cuts: 560 grams ÷ (100 cuts - 30 cuts) = 7 grams.

Therefore, each cut of lemongrass weighs 7 grams.

Next, you subtract the weight of the lemongrass from the weight of the jar with lemongrass to find the weight of the empty jar.

Weight of the empty jar = Weight of the jar with lemongrass - Weight of lemongrass

Weight of the empty jar = 875 grams - (7 grams/cut * 100 cuts) = 875 grams - 700 grams = 175 grams.

Answer:

  • 75 grams

==================

First, find the weight of the lemongrass per cut.

It is obtained by dividing the difference of weights by the difference of cuts:

  • (875 - 315) / (100 - 30) =
  • 560 / 70 =
  • 8 grams

Next, find the weight of the empty jar.

It is the difference of weight of a jar with lemongrass and the weight of the lemongrass using number of cuts:

  • 875 - 100*8 =
  • 875 - 800 =
  • 75 grams

or

  • 315 - 8*30 =
  • 315 - 240 =
  • 75 grams

Therefore, the weight of the empty jar is 75 grams.
