Answer:

The height of the tank is 15 cm

Explanation:

Volume of the tank's base = length × width × height

Volume of the base = 40 cm × 60 cm × h

= 2400h cm³

The base is 1/3 filled with water, so the volume of water in the base = (1/3) × volume of the base.

= (1/3) × 2400h

= 800h cm³

volume needed = 2400h - 800h

= 1600h cm³

volume needed (in liters) = 1600h cm³ / 1000 = 1.6h liters

1.6h liters = 24 liters

1.6h = 24

h = 24 / 1.6

h = 15 cm

Therefore, The height of the tank is 15 cm
