Explanation:

A square ( on the left) area = 3 x 3 = 9 m^2

and a trapezoid with bases 3 and 6 and 'height' of 21 -3 = 18 m

area = average of bases * height = (3+6)/2 * 18 = 81 m^2

Total = 9 + 81 = 90 m^2
