There are two quantities of a salt solution: 80 g and 120 g. There are 12 g of salt in the first solution and 15 g of salt in

the second solution. What is the percent concentration of salt
in each solution? What would be the concentration if we
were to mix these solutions?

Answer:

Explanation:

the formula to find molar concentration,

M = n/v

where

M = molar concentration solution

n = moles of solute

v = litres of solution

for first quantity the percent concentration of salt is,

M = 12/80 = .15 = 15%

for second quantity the percent concentration of salt is,

M = 15/120 = .125 = 12.5%

the concentration by mixing these solutions will be, 27.5%
