To eliminate x from the given linear system, by what numbers would you multiply equations (1) and (2)? 2x+6y=4 3x-8y=-8

2x+6y=4 multiply this equation by 3 which makes the equation 6x+18y=12

3x-8y=-8 multiply this equation by -2 which
Makes the equation. -6x+16y = 16

You can multiply equation 1 by 3 and equation 2 by -2

Or

You can multiply equation 1 by -3 and equation by 2
