Answer:

x+1 SQUARE units

Explanation:

Area of a rectangle is height times width or you could just say the length on one side times the length of a side right next to it.

If the rectangle is x+1 units long and 1 unit high, then the answer is (x+1) x 1 = x +1 because anything times 1 is always just what you started with.
