Inner planets and Outer planets:
The Inner planets, also known as terrestrial planets are the four planets closest to the Sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. They are solid spheres of rock and are smaller in size compared to the outer planets. They have a solid surface and a molten metal core. The inner planets are constantly bombarded by asteroids and meteorites, which has resulted in craters of varying sizes on their surfaces. On the other hand, the outer planets, also known as gas giants, are further away from the Sun and are larger in size. They are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. The outer planets are large gaseous spheres with rings and have many moons. Between the inner and outer planets is an asteroid belt. It is important to note that Pluto, Ceres, and Eris are dwarf planets and not classified as either inner or outer planets
