The base radius of a metallic cylinder is 30cm and its height is 42 cm. It is melted and recast into cylinder of base radius 6cm and height 10 cm. How many such cylinder can be formed

Original cylinder:

V = πr²h

V = π × (30 cm)² × 42 cm

V = 37,800π cm³

New cylinder:

V = πr²h

V = π × (6 cm)² × 10 cm

V = 360π cm³

How many times larger is the volume of the larger cylinder than the volume of the smaller cylinder?

37,800π / 360π = 3780/36 = 105

Answer: 105
