Answer: It is due to the gravitational pull of the moon is stronger on the side of the Earth that faces it and weaker on the other.

Explanations: The gravitational attraction of the Moon and to lesser extent , the Sun on the waters of the Earth is principally responsible for the occurrence of the two low tides and two high tides each day .

As a result, the side of the water that faces moon is drawn inward, creating a bulge or high tide . a second high tide is produced by similar bulge on opposite aide caused by the water being pushed away from Earth.
