Assignment Background: In Chapter 4 of the course, you were introduced to the five theories of
motivation that are tundamenta to individuals. Peoole are motivated to pertorm behaviors tor different
reasons. You are often motivated to eat food by bodily conditions such as low blood sugar. A cue in the
environment, such as the Entry Test, can help motivate you to be successful in preparation for college.
Emotions, such as fear, joy, or surprise, often underlie behavior. Motives are triggered by a stimulus, or
an incentve.
The purpose of this assignment is to connect theory that has been studied to current HRM and
motivation. This assignment will reflect your understanding of the reading and in-class lecture material
and demonstrate our ability to communicate vour ideas and report on relevant intormation related to
