A line has a slope of – 7/6 and includes the points ( – 10,3) and (w, – 4). What is the value of w?

Answer:

w=-4

Explanation:

A(-10,3) ,B(w,-4)

Then the gradient of the slope is -7/6

therefore m=y2-y1/x2-x1

-7/6=-7/w+10

By cross multiplication

-7(w+10) =6(-7)

-7w-70=-42

-7w=-42+70

-7w÷-7=28÷-7

w= -4
