Vicky ran 3/14 of a mile more than she walked.

Explanation:

14 divided by 7 = 2.

That mean that we have to multiply 1/7 by 2, so that we have common denominators. The reason we want common denominators is because it will make subtracting easier.

Now, we have 5/14-2/14 because we are how much MORE she ran than walked.

Since the denominators are the SAME, we can ignore them for now; simplifying our equation to; 5-2= 3.

Now we will bring our denominator back into our answer, and we should end up with, "Vicky ran 3/14 of a mile more than she walked."
