As we have a right triangle at hand, we can use sin, cos or tan to evaluate the angle x.

The easiest way would be to use tangent function. It is defined as tan(x) = opposite/adjacent.

Hence tan(x) = 11cm/5cm = 11/5 = 2.2

Taking the arctan on both sides (this is the inverse function to the tangent function) we get

x = arctan(2.2) = 1.1441… rad = 65.5560… degrees.

So the answer would be x is about 65.56 degrees.

Answer:

x ≈ 65.56°

Explanation:

using the tangent ratio in the right triangle

tan x =
(opposite)/(adjacent) =
(11)/(5) , then

x =
tan^(-1) (
(11)/(5) ) ≈ 65.56° ( to the nearest hundredth )
