If the equation of a curve is y=2x²-3x-2, find the gradient at the point where x = 0 i) the coordinates of the points of intersection where the curve cuts the x-axis. iii) the gradient at each of the points found in (ii)​

Answer:

Y=2x²-3x-2....eqn 1

(I) .'. dy/dx=4x-3....eqn 2

substituting x=0 on eqn 2 .'. M= -3....Gradient=-3 .'. M1= -3

(II) substituting x=0 on eqn 1....Y= -2

(III) M2= -1/M2

.'. M2= -1/-3 .'. M2 = 1/3
