Suppose scientists discovered that global warming is causing the Arctic ice-sheets to melt much more quickly than was previously believed. This means that global warming will lead to a larger rise in sea levels. Will this discovery cause the social cost of carbon to increase, decrease, or stay the same? Explain briefly why.

Answer:

increase

Explanation:

Thinking about this question in more logical perspective, as we know carbon is causing global warming. If scientist found out that global warming is causing Arctic ice-sheets to melt much faster, scientist would try to stop that, therefore they would increase the value of carbon in order to increase its price therefore resulting in less people using carbon, resulting in decrease of effects of global warming.
