In high school during our gym evaluation test we do something known as the sit and reach flexibility test. This ultimately measure how far an individuals muscles will allow their body to stretch. Flexibility is ultimately described as the extend in which motion of muscle and connective tissues are represented at a joint or a set of joints. Test that require flex in the hips all the way to touching your toes can also help measure muscle stretches and how far one's body can take.
