I divide it by 100 and then times it by the percentage I’m looking for.

For example:
40/100 = 0.4
0.4 x 25 = 10

So 25% of 40 is 10

Answer:

25% of $40 would be 10

Explanation:

with 25% thats 1/4 of 40%

25% of a hundred would be 25

25 + 25 + 25 + 25 = 100

25% of 40 = 10

1/4 of 40 = 10

and so on.

If you try to find the percent when given a decimal you can put it like this into a calculator or whatever your using;

25% = 0.25

and when you multiply the decimal version by 100 then once again you still get 25.

hope this helps! <3
