Steven created the scatterplot and trend line below to model the relationship between the number of innings he pitched and the number of pitches he threw in a baseball game.

Baseball Pitches
A graph has innings on the x-axis and pitches on the y-axis. A trend line has a regression equation of y = 12 x.

If Steven threw 87 pitches, about how many innings did he pitch?
5
6
7
cannot be determined; number of pitches is outside graph

This is a estimate, do not answer with this, I believe since in an inning there are usually 15 or less pitches per team. I believe for him to have pitched that much he would have had probably had to pitched 7 innings. If you predict he pitches 12 each inning he would have reached 84 pitches in total to 7 innings seems about coorrect. Hope this helps mate.
