What happened in Iran ?
In 1925, Reza Shah Pahlavi established a new dynasty in Iran after overthrowing the Qajar dynasty. His son, Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, succeeded him to the throne in 1941.
In 1953, the CIA orchestrated a coup d'état that ousted Mohammed Mosaddegh, the democratically elected Prime Minister of Iran. This coup helped to restore Mohammed Reza Pahlavi's power and establish a closer relationship between the United States and Iran.
