you have to get all the X's on one side

so take away 4x from both sides

5<-12x-7

then add 7 so it cancels out on the the right side

12<-12x

to get x alone we need to divide by 4 on both sides

12÷12=1

-12x÷12=-1

soooo...

-1< x
