Answer:

The difference between the Temperature at the peak and at the foot of the mountain in the afternoon was 5°C

Explanation:

In the morning,

Temperature at the peak = -8°C

Temperature at the foot was 7°C higher so,

Temperature at the foot = -8 + 7

Temperature at the foot = -1°C

In the afternoon

Temperature at the peak rose by 5°C

so,

Temperature at the peak = -8 + 5

Temperature at the peak(afternoon) = -3°C

Temperature at the foot rose by 3°C

Temperature at the foot =-1 + 3°C

Temperature at the foot(afternoon) = 2°C

The difference between the temperature at the peak and at the foot is,

Temp at foot - temp at peak = 2°C -(-3°C) = 2 + 3 = 5°C

The difference was 5°C
