Seems like a large assignment, so I will answer in a broad manner

Two different types of cells found in the human body are:

  1. Red blood cells (also known as erythrocytes)
  2. Neurons (also known as nerve cells)

Here are the steps you can follow:

  1. Search the internet for a light microscope view of red blood cells and neurons.
  2. Copy and paste the pictures you select into your Notebook.
  3. Using paper and a pencil, create a biological diagram of one of the cells. Make sure to label at least the cell membrane and the cytoplasm. Try to include a label for any other organelles you may be able to see, such as the nucleus. You don't need to include any magnification information if it is unavailable.
  4. Evaluate your diagram according to the biological diagram evaluation checklist below. Did you meet all the criteria?

Biological Diagram Evaluation Checklist:

  • Diagram takes up majority of the page
  • Diagram is in pencil
  • Diagram is stippled (not shaded) to show contrast
  • Labels are on the right side of the page
  • Label names line up with each other
  • Label lines are straight and made with a ruler
  • Descriptive title is clearly written at the top of the page
  • Any magnification or qualitative observations are at the bottom of the diagram

5. Create your second diagram, paying close attention to the checklist above, particularly those that you did not include the first time or areas you need to improve on.

6. Under both diagrams, identify and explain any differences you see between the two types of cells and consider how these differences might be related to their function.

Differences between red blood cells and neurons:

  • Red blood cells are biconcave, disc-shaped cells that lack a nucleus and other organelles, while neurons have a distinct nucleus and other organelles such as mitochondria, Golgi apparatus, and endoplasmic reticulum.
  • Red blood cells are responsible for carrying oxygen from the lungs to the body's tissues, while neurons are specialized cells that transmit nerve impulses and communicate with other cells in the body.
  • The shape and lack of organelles in red blood cells make them more flexible and better suited for squeezing through narrow blood vessels, while the presence of organelles in neurons enables them to perform complex functions such as neurotransmitter synthesis and axonal transport.
