Answer:

28

Explanation:

10a + b = 10b + a - 54

-a -10b -10b -a

9a - 9b = -54 Factor the 9

9(a - b) = -54 Divide both sides by 9

a - b = -6

a + b = 10

2a = 4 Divide both sides by 2

a = 2

b = 8 a + b = 10, 2 + b = 10 b = 8

New number 28

Original number 82

8 + 2 = 10

82 - 54 = 28
