Answer:

(x + 20)/(y + 20) = 5/2

(x - 5)/(y - 5) = 5

2(x + 20) = 5(y + 20)

2x + 40 = 5y + 100

2x - 5y = 60

x - 5 = 5(y - 5)

x - 5 = 5y - 25

x - 5y = -20

2x - 5y = 60

x - 5y = -20

x = £80, y = £20

x:y = £80:£20 = 4:1 = 4
