Guys i need help with this question :

A fish tank contains 60 litres of water, rounded to 1 significant figure. 40 litres of water, rounded to 1 significant figure, are removed from the tank. Work out the upper bound of the volume of water left in the fish tank. Give your answer in litres.

Initial Volume of water in tank = 60 L Volume of water removed from tank = 40L To find : volume of water left in tank


Final volume if water in tank = volume of water left in the tank

Final volume = Initial volume of water - volume of water removed

Final volume = 60 L - 20 L = 40 L

Hence volume of water left in fish tank = 20 L ( in one significant figure)

volume of water left in the fish tank = 20 L
