Answer:

(A) 7 x 9 = 63

(B) 5 x 9 = 45

Explanation:

To answer these questions you have to use ratio. The ratio for our question is 5:7. To find out how many each landscaping can mow we have to divide the total of our ratio by the total of lawns mowed!

  • 5 + 7 = 12
  • 108 ÷ 12 = 9

This means that each mow has mowed a value of 9 times and to find out how many lawns this would be we have to multiply 9 by 5 and 7!

(A) 7 x 9 = 63

(B) 5 x 9 = 45

To check our answer we can add them up to see if they total to 108

  • 63 + 45 = 108

Hope this helps, have a lovely day! :)

Answer:

(A) BASEK Landscaping mowed 63 lawns.

(B) Diamonds Cuts Landscaping mowed 45 lawns.

Explanation:

The ratio of the number of lawns BASEK Landscaping can mow to the number of lawns Diamonds Cuts Landscaping can mow is 7 : 5.

Let "x" be the scale factor. Therefore, the ratio is 7x : 5x.

If the total number of lawns both companies mowed is 108, then:

7x + 5x = 108

Solve for x to find the scale factor:

7x + 5x = 108

12x = 108

12x / 12 = 108 / 12

x = 9

To calculate the number of lawns that BASEK mowed, substitute the found value of x into 7x:

7x = 7(9) = 63

To calculate the number of lawns that Diamond Cuts mowed, substitute the found value of x into 5x:

5x = 5(9) = 45

In conclusion:

  • BASEK Landscaping mowed 63 lawns.
  • Diamonds Cuts Landscaping mowed 45 lawns.
