The square root of this number would be an imaginary number. This is because although this is a number, it is minus and this means that there can not be two of the same number than can multiply to this. We see this because a negative and a negative number multiplied together would make a positive. If we were to multiply a negative number and a positive number, although it would make a negative number, the numbers would not be the same as one would be negative and one would be positive!
