Given equation is v = u + at

Acc. to the first Newton's equation of motion :

u = initial velocity

v = final velocity

a = acceleration

t = time

Now , by solving the given equation we can easily find the formula for u.

v = u + at

by rearranging the equation we can find out the u

u = v - at

Hence , the formula for u is u = v - at

Formula

To find u, just subtract at from both sides.

v = u + at

v - at = u

u = v - at

∴ u = v - at
