Systems

In order for the system to have no solutions, the other equation should also have 3x, but the constant should be different.

y = 3x + 1

y = 3x - 7

If we substitute the first equation into the second one, the result will be:

3x + 1 = 3x - 7

Now if we try to solve, we get:

3x - 3x = -7 - 1

0x = -8

0 = -8

A false statement means no solution.
