Some boys and girls took part in a competition. 2/5 of the competitors were boys. 1/3 of the boys were disqualified from the competition. If there were 135 competitors at first, how many more girls than boys were left?

And there were Total 135 competitors.

So, the Number of Boys are 135 × (2/5) = 54 boys

Therefore, the Number of Girls in the competition is 135-54 = 81 Girls.

Now,

  • 1/3 of the boys were disqualified from the competition. So, 54× (1/3) = 18 boys Disqualified . the Remaining boys are 54-18 = 36 boys left in Competition.
  • Then, The number of girls more than that of boys left in competition were 81-36 = 45
