If a scientific team uses special equipment to measures the pressure under water and finds it to be 102 pounds per square foot, at what depth is the team making their measurements? If the pressure is 102 pounds per square feet, the team is measuring at feet below the surface.

Answer:

One cubic foot of water contains roughly 8 gallons and 62 lbs so the

bottom of the ft^3 has a pressure of 62 lbs/ft^2

102 / 62 = 1.6

So the depth of the measurement is about 1.6 ft
