Goldstein's proton discovery

  • In 1886, Goldstein performed an experiment with a cathode ray tube with holes in it and he observed that some rays were coming back in opposite direction.
  • He named them anode rays.
  • These rays are made up of positively charged particles called as ,"protons".

It's like if you make a bunch of rabbits and dogs run but you put some carrots in the straight direction and pieces of raw meat in opposite direction, you'll notice that dogs will sense the pieces of meat and run to that direction to eat them while rabbits will go directly to the carrots, here dogs are proton.
