100 boxes

Given :

  • Dimensions of the large box = 16in tall,10in wide ,10in long
  • Dimensions of a small box = 4in tall, 2in wide, 2in long

To find :

  • No. of small boxes that can be fitted into the large box

Solution :

To find the no. of small boxes that can be fitted into the large box ,we need to divide the volume of the large box by the volume of a small box .

  • volume of a box = length x width x height
  • volume of large box = 16in x 10in x 10 in = 1,600in³
  • volume of small box = 4in x 2in x 2in = 16in³
  • no. of small boxes that can be fitted inside the large box = 1600in³/16in³ = 100

Hence ,a total number of 100 small boxes can fit inside of the large box.
