If you see y=mx+b, it's a line in slope-intercept form. Explain how to graph it.

Answer:

The b value tells you where the line will cross the y axis. Graph that point. Then the slope (m) tells you the steepness of the line. Start at the y-intercept and graph the slope. The slope is the change in y over the change in x. If we had a slope of 1/2, we would move one unit up and then two units right. If the slope was -3/2, we would move three units down and then two units right. Now that you have two points, you can draw a line. Only one line will go through both points graphed.
