Find by calculating gradients, whether or not the opposite sides of quadrilateral ABCD are parallel. A is (2, 1), B is ( 14, 7), C is ( 20, 19), D is ( 8, 13)

Answer:

Gradient1(AB)=Change in y ÷ Change in x

Gradient1=(7-1)÷(14-2)

=1/2

Gradient2 (CD)= Change in y ÷ Change in x

= (19-13) ÷ (20-8)

=1/2

Gradient3 (BC)= Change in y ÷ Change in x

=(19-7) ÷ (20-14)

=2

Gradient4 (AD)= Change in y ÷ Change in x

=(13-1) ÷ (8-2)

= 2

AB is opposite to CD and have equal gradient

AD is opposite to BC and have equal gradient
