The regular price of a model car was $3.24. The sale price of the model car was $2.16. Which of these fractions shows how much the regular price was reduced for the sale?

Regular price: 3,24

Sale price: 2,16

To see how much as reduced we just need to divide the original price by the new price and see how much the new price represents of the original price.

2,16/3,24 = 2/3

Here we see that it's only 2/3 of the original price, so the it was reduced by 1/3. Alternative A.
